It’s one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. No wonder you’ll want to go.

The Grand Canyon. The name practically says it all. At 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29 km) wide and a depth of over a mile (1,800 meters), it’s one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Understandably so. Add to that the brilliant oranges, reds and purples of the magnificent cliffs and exposed rock—there’s beauty at every turn. From the nerve wracking trails to its powerful Colorado River, this treasure has been seen by many but explored by few.

Explore the Canyon with K2 Adventure Travel by trail—hiking from the North Rim to the South Rim. You’ll witness the beauty of Bright Angel Canyon and cross the mighty Colorado River.

Rim-to-Rim Hiking

Trip Itinerary

  1. Day 1 At 8:00 a.m. you will meet at the K2AT parking lot where you will leave your vehicle. You will board a private luxury bus after your luggage is tagged and loaded. Light snacks will be provided. The bus will stop several hours in for you to visit the grocery store and Starbucks. This is a great time to pick up ice, lunch and dinner, extra supplies etc. You will re- board the bus for our final destination at the North Rim. Upon arrival at the North Rim you will be checked into your room and given room keys (two people per room). You can check out the amazing sunset and grab dinner at the lodge. If you do not wish to eat dinner in the lodge there are a couple of other options in the saloon and in the deli (lunch/dinner not included).
  2. Day 2 You will wake for breakfast at 4:00 a.m. Breakfast will include bagels, bread, cream cheese, peanut butter, jelly, and bananas. Between 4:30–5:00 a.m., make your way to the parking lot to load your luggage back on the bus. Make sure that all of your items are clearly marked or they will not be in your rooms when you arrive at the South Rim. The bus will leave promptly at 5:00 a.m. for the trailhead where we will have a team photo and begin the hike (approximately 7–15 hours of hiking). Upon arrival at the South Rim you will be greeted by our bus driver and taken to the hotel. After a nice rest from the long hike you can have dinner in the Lodge (lunch/dinner not included).
  3. Day 3 Wake at your leisure and have breakfast at the hotel or on your own (not included). You will turn in your room keys and bring your luggage to the bus by 9:00 a.m. Light snacks will be provided for the bus ride home. Plan on a 3:00 p.m. arrival.

  2. The flight to Bar 10 Ranch is approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival at the ranch you will have lunch, followed by individual participation in any of the activities that the ranch has to offer (horseback riding, horseshoe pitching, hiking and skeet shooting). You will finish the day with our team dinner and country-western entertainment provided by the ranch hands. 3. Day 3 You will wake up to the aroma of a home cooked country breakfast. Following breakfast, you will fly by helicopter to the river’s edge at Whitmore Wash where your river guides will be waiting for your arrival. After repacking your gear into the waterproof bags and a safety talk, you will load the rafts, slip into lifejackets and start down the river. Each day varies, but on average you’ll spend three to five hours on the boats. Each boat holds four people plus a guide. All meals included.
  4. Day 4 You will wake for a nice breakfast, followed by the churning waters of the 205, 209 and 217 mile rapids, which discount the myth that all the good whitewater occurs above Whitmore Wash. You will spend a delightful day discovering these splashy fun-filled rapids. More than just whitewater, however, this trip affords an opportunity for you to hike and explore the exquisite desert wonderland. Each day varies, but on average you’ll spend three to five hours on the boats. All meals included.
  5. Day 5 You will wake for a nice breakfast, followed by your last full day on the river. You will slip past Diamond Creek and then enter the lower Granite Gorge. Final camp will be at or just above Separation Rapid. Each day varies, but on average you’ll spend three to five hours on the boats. All meals included.
  6. Day 6 You will wake for a nice breakfast, followed by boarding the motorized boat that will take you for your final journey downstream and across Lake Mead to our pick up. Transportation will be provided by van back to the Mirage Hotel for check-in and for your final team dinner. Breakfast and dinner are included.
  7. Day 7 VIP Treatment at the Dolphin Habitat with a Guided Tour and Private Swim. You will wake for breakfast (not included) followed by an 8 a.m. check-in at the Dolphin Habitat located on the property of the Mirage Hotel. You will meet our namesake “K2” the dolphin that was born at the Mirage in 2012, swim with one or more of the older dolphins and visit the Dolphin Habitat with a special VIP guided tour. This once in a lifetime opportunity is available to everyone on this trip because of the partnership K2 Adventures Foundation has formed with the Dolphin Habitat. Through K2 Adventures Foundation we have given families and individuals with disabilities the opportunity to play, laugh and swim with a dolphin, and experience the true unconditional love of a dolphin. Afterward, one of our educational experts will escort you through the dolphin facility, providing you with an exclusive look at all the wonders found within. Get an insider’s view of the hard work and dedication that goes into the training and care of the dolphins. Approximately three to four hours will be spent in the Dolphin Habitat. Afterwards, you are on your own to enjoy Las Vegas and prepare for your flight home. We recommend you book your flight out of Las Vegas after 2 p.m.
